High School Confidential

If you want to see some good, raw documentary action tune in tonight for WE tv’s premier of High School Confidential. On at 9pm central. In it Sharon Liese documents the lives of 12 girls over 4 years…all through high school. It’s very real and very eye-opening. The girls deal with everything from suicidal thoughts to eating disorders, pregnancy…and the list goes on.I had the pleasure of working with Sharon and 6 of the 12 girls for the March cover of Her Life Magazine. Although they won’t disclose the actual school calling it just “Northwest” the whole series was taped at local Blue Valley Northwest High School. Talking with Sharon was great, she’s very lively. It was fun seeing the interaction between her and the girls. You can tell this experience has brought them all very close. It looked to me like many of the girls look to Sharon as a mom-type figure asking her advice with school (they are now sophomores in college) and getting responses only a parent would give.  I also couldn’t believe how “not” apprehensive the girls were that their personal lives will be broadcast around the country. But both Sharon and the girls really stress that they want this documentary to open up the lines of communication between teenagers and their parents. After talking with them and seeing some of the previews…it will!!So watch tonight!! I promise it won’t disappoint!

I think someone should communicate with the moms. It can’t be heathy to have your daughter’s pregnancy scare on tv.
Do you think this is okay?

The moms and dads are actually a big part of the show. I’m sure it wasn’t an easy decision for them or the girls to share their very personal experiences with the world. But I believe it’s to the advantage of other girls out there and their parents to see.
